My personal health journey began when I was 18. It actually began when I was in middle school and was known as the "fat kid," but I wasn't aware I was on a health journey until I had graduated high school, and was about to leave for bible college. That year my dad got really sick. His own health journey began an eye-opening, life adventure for me. In the years to follow I would begin to research food as medicine, become aware that I dealt with severe body image issues and borderline eating disorder. Through those experiences and battles I found a passion in sharing my story and helping others along the way.
I began pursuing whole person health, a balance of strength and wellness in body, mind, heart and soul. That is the foundation of my coaching career. My joy is helping others experience the freedom I have found by helping them align every part themselves on their personal path to wellness: passions + dreams, habits, faith, self talk, stress management + mindfulness.
SKILLS
ARRA Method (Mindfulness). I use this in my Mindfulness in Movement Podcast episodes: Awake. Release. Receive. Awaken. This is a technique I created for myself to help me work through clinically-diagnosed anxiety.
Fitness Coach. I am Crossfit Level 1 Trainer who is passionate about proper form during movement, as well as intentional recovery. I use my personal experiences ranging from Yoga to Crossfit and infuse them into my workout programs.
EDUCATION
I am a Certified Health Coach from Health Coach Institute online. I studied to gain knowledge + support. I build off of that knowledge as well as my own 18 years of research and personal trial + error. Experience is a huge part of my coaching, because I want to bring my clients along the journey I am on too! We all start at different places and move at different paces but part of what you get when working with me, is ME!
